CAURA is a national voice for research administrators in Canada. Distinct from other national organizations, CAURA's strength is in its diversity and comprehensive approach to research administration. CAURA provides a critical interface between all stakeholders in the management of the research enterprise.
The Organization
Founded in 1971, the Canadian Association of University Research Administrators is a national association of individuals committed to advancing the profession; to improving the efficiency and effectiveness of research administration at post-secondary institutions, hospitals, and other research institutes; to maintaining a strong presence and coherent voice on key issues relevant to research and to fostering co-operation and links with other organizations active in the management and administration of research.
Membership:
The membership year is April 1st to March 31st of the next year.
It is now possible to obtain a NEW CAURA membership online using a credit card. To do so, click on the "Registration" link on the homepage and complete the online form. An email confirming your membership will be sent to you.
You can renew a CAURA membership through your 'Member Dashboard' after you login with your email address and password. If this is your first time logging in and you are a CAURA member, you must follow these steps:
1. enter your email address in the login field and click on "Forgot your Password?"
2. An email will be sent to you with instructions on how to set your unique personal password
3. Use your email address and new password to login to the CAURA website and you will find your personal "Member Dashboard" which enables you to renew your membership and update your member profile.
Membership may also be taken at any time throughout the year by using the attached form which must be mailed with a cheque. Please note that the 2013-2014 membership year fee will be $113.00 ($100 plus 13% HST). Fees are collected annually at the beginning of the membership year. There will be no pro-rating of membership fees.
